Programs

Greater Portland Hillel is a college-based organization that serves Jewish students from all around the Portland area.  PDX Hillel primarily serves the campuses of Portland State University, Lewis and Clark College, University of Portland, and Reed College. While each of these campuses has its own distinct personality, Hillel is the only student run organization that has the ability to connect students on multiple campuses through Jewish, cultural, and social justice programming.

Hillel programs are open to all students.

Jewish Holidays

Passover 12 GroupWhether it be a Passover Seder, a game of dreidel, or gathering leaves to build a sukkah, Portland Hillel knows how to celebrate.  With hundreds of vibrant traditions in the Jewish faith and dozens of Jewish holidays, there is always something to celebrate.  Holiday events are held both on campus as well as in the community.

Vent with a Venti

VentiOur weekly coffee discussion group where students come together and talk about the latest hot topics in modern Jewish life. Students debate topics like 'Kosher vs Organic", what it means to be a "modern" Jew, or political concerns about the middle east.  Most importantly, over bagels and coffee, students come together each week for meaningful Jewish conversation.
